Went back to Bar Valentin for breakfast prior to heading down the path.

Walked for a bit today with US expats Craig & Joan, who now live in Portugal. Saw Guy and Elga intermittently. And other faces are also looking familiar.
The poppies have returned. These were just the first of many.

And other foliage caught my eye.

I noticed this Abbey from the 1200s was apparently recently sold and is being renovated.

Walked around the fortress walls of Pamplona. I’ve mentioned before how formidable the walls are. I’ve left pilgrims in this photo for scale.

Stopped into a bakery to get out of the rain and enjoy a cup of coffee (with cinnamon).

Then walked all the way through Pamplona to the knights Templar hostel in the next town.

Amenities are sparse- so I’ve actually booked tomorrow’s stay at a place with a washer/dryer. These are the considerations of the trail.
15+ miles / 24+ km today. Early night.
More later…
