10-Days Out – Pray List

First of all, I’m praying for inspiration and honesty.

I don’t want to write the same story I wrote the other two times.  It’s not the same Camino – so I hope that I can accurately portray that each day.  I’m praying for fresh eyes through which to see new things.  And the ability to articulate what I experience.

I’m praying for physical strength.

I’m feeling some of the effects of my almost 60 years and of the accident (see the 50-Days Out). And I know I probably should have trained harder.  But it’s going to be okay.  I’m sure of it.

One of our managers has a sign in her office:

If you can’t fly, then run.
If you can’t run, then walk.
If you can’t walk, then crawl.
But by all means, keep moving.
— Martin Luther King, Jr.

I know he wasn’t referring to a hike across Spain. But it’s about determination, none the less. In other words, it might not be pretty – but we’ll get there.

I’m praying for my friends and family.

For the people who are left behind.  For their safety. That their needs will be met and that they will enjoy every moment of the time that I’m away to its fullest.

And, I’m praying for this Camino’s mission.

Marilyn’s Camino for Water | charity: water (charitywater.org)

For everyone who reads about it and considers now, or in the future, to join this project.  I’m grateful for all your support and encouragement.

For our neighbors who need water, one our most basic physical needs. For parents who are hoping for a better future for their kids.  I want them to know they know they’re heard and cared for.  I don’t know where the well will be dug – reading about it will be an adventure for all of us further down the road.  But, right now there are entire communities out there who are hoping theirs is the next well project on the list.

And, just like this mission was inspired by someone else’s, I’m praying that this mission will inspire another.  And so on … until everyone has clean water.

More later…
